For Christmas: start your book by Sunday 22 November, and it arrives in time. How the timing works

A retirement

wewrote this retirement book,

Thirty-one years is too long for a card and too much for a speech. It fits in a book, one page per person,

In short

A retirement gift from colleagues works best when everyone who worked with them can be in it, wherever they are now. With wewrote, you send one link; each person adds a photograph and a few lines from their phone in under five minutes, with no account. We lay out every page, print and bind the book in the UK and post it within 7 working days of your order. £34.99 for 24 pages, plus £5.99 delivery.

Who is usually in it

The team now, the team before, the ones they trained who left years ago,

What to ask them for

Send one of these with the link. A prompt gets a better page than a blank box,

  • The first thing they taught you,
  • What the place will be like on the Monday,
  • Something they did that nobody thanked them for at the time,

The title

Lead with the span, not the leaving.

You write the cover yourself, so it can say anything. This is simply what works,

What it costs

£34.99 for 24 pages, plus delivery. No VAT to add,

How long it takes

Printed and posted within 7 working days, once you close the book,

What everyone else does

Less than 5 minutes: one photograph, a few lines, from their phone,

a retirement book, filling up

How a retirement book comes together,

  1. You start it

Who it is for, a title for the cover, and the look. A minute, and you get one link.

  2. Everyone adds a page

The team now, the team before, the ones they trained who left years ago. Each adds a photograph and a few lines from their phone, in under five minutes, with no account.

  3. We print it and post it

You see every page first. Close the book, order it, and it is printed in the UK and posted within 7 working days.

Questions people ask,

What does it cost?

£34.99 for a 24-page book, then £1.99 for every two pages beyond that. Delivery is £5.99, tracked, within 7 working days. Leaving the wewrote, mark off the cover is £4.99.

Nothing is charged while the book is being filled. You pay once, at the end, when you have read it and are happy.

Does anyone need an app or an account?

No. You send a link, people open it in whatever browser is already on their phone, write something, add a photograph or four, and that is the whole thing. Five minutes.

You do not need an account either — though you can sign in with your email address to find your books again if you lose the link.

Do I need twenty friends?

No, and this is the thing most people worry about. 24 pages is simply the smallest book a printer will bind, so every book is at least 24 pages whatever happens, at £34.99. Any pages nobody wrote on are printed as clean white pages, ready to be written on or filled with photographs later.

If eight people write, you get eight pages of messages and the rest are printed as clean white pages — with a line on the first saying what they are for. Plenty of people write two or three pages themselves to start it off. A short book with good pages in it is better than a long one padded out.
